The Nexstar CTV App Index

A working inventory of every Nexstar local streaming app I've helped ship, configure, and support across Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, and Samsung TV. Search, filter by state, sort, and toggle between a grid and a national map.

My role

Video Product Manager at Nexstar Digital, focused on the streaming side of the business.

I work on the suite of CTV/OTT apps that put each of our local stations onto Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, and Samsung TV. This page is a snapshot of that portfolio. Many people across product, design, engineering, content, operations, and the stations themselves contribute to each launch. I've been instrumental in pushing this rollout forward and shaping how it gets built and supported.

Launching a station's app is the visible part. The work I've been most involved in is everything around it:

  • Driving requirements, configuring feeds and metadata, and coordinating store submissions across all four platforms for every market launch.
  • Training and onboarding station teams on the CMS that powers their app.
  • Piloting features with stations as design partners, then helping roll them out across the portfolio.
  • Improving the backend CMS, because that's where station teams spend their time and where most of the operational quality really comes from.
  • Partnering with stations after launch on what's working, what isn't, and what to ship next.
  • Sharpening support workflows so when something breaks, it gets routed correctly the first time.
  • Implementing MVPD TVE authentication: sign-in flows, entitlements, channel mapping, and the operational support around them.

The apps are the part you can see in the store. The CMS, the training, the station feedback loop, and the metadata model are the part that decides whether they actually work.

About this page. Each card represents a Nexstar local CTV/OTT app launched on Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, and (where available) Samsung TV. The "Live" link opens the station's livestream website. NewsNation requires TVE (MVPD sign-in) to stream the linear feed. Reach out if you want to talk about how any of this gets built, configured, or supported in real life.
